1. Interactive & customisable charts

Many technical analysis tools provide charts that are more or less static. You can zoom in and out, but not smoothly. ChartMaestro allows you to zoom and pan using your scroll wheel and the view will instantly be updated as you zoom in and out. Also, the height of the chart will automatically update so you don’t have to think about positioning the chart. The chart also contains a cursor, which you can position on any day in the chart.

ChartMaestro comes with four different chart views, but you can also create your own and customise them any way you want, from what kind of indicators to include to the background of the chart. The included views are:

  • RSI
  • Stochastics
  • MACD
  • Volatility with bollinger band

2. Common indicators like RSI and MA

ChartMaestro includes common indicators like RSI, MA, EMA, Stochastics, MACD, and Rate of Change (relative and absolute).

3. Indicator language

ChartMaestro includes an indicator language based on RPN (reversed polish notation). RPN is used in many HP calculators and is easy to learn. Every chart and smart watch list are built on this language. Here is a simple example of an expression: close open -

This expression will plot the difference between close and open. In RPN, the operator (the minus sign) is put after close and open. This is a quite natural way of thinking: take the close and open quote, then subtract them. Expressions that you use many times can be stored in a function.

4. Smart watch lists

A watch list is a list where you put stocks of interest, but what is a smart watch list? A smart watch list adds stocks automatically for you based on some rules that you define using the indicator language. Smart watch lists are automatically updated every time you reload the stocks with the latest data. Say you want a smart watch list with all the stocks where the close price is higher than the open price. This can easily be created with this expression:

close open >

5. Manual watch lists

You can create “normal” watch lists, where you can manually add and remove stocks.

6. Portfolio management

ChartMaestro has a profit summary for your portfolio and you can easily add and remove stocks from your portfolio.

7. 2D scatter plot

The 2D scatter plot feature allows you to plot all the stocks in your library as circles in a 2D scatter plot view.

8. Smart value in watch table

Each smart watch list can add a smart value in the watch table for each stock. You can decide what this value should be. For instance, if you have a smart watch list for stocks with RSI < 30, you can add the RSI value as a smart value in the watch table.

9. Download data from Yahoo Finance

ChartMaestro downloads all the data from Yahoo Finance. You can add stocks to the library by adding the stock symbol for the stocks, e.g. AAPL for Apple etc.

10. Includes stock list for common stocks

You don’t have to manually add common stocks from Nasdaq, FTSE, etc. These are included as stocks lists in ChartMaestro and you can reach them from the Edit->Add symbols from list menu.

11. Great support

ChartMaestro comes with great support. If you have any questions, please contact info@chartmaestro.com and I will try to answer as soon as I can!
